Kiwanis gives out water bottles at Back to School bash
At the Back to School Bash Aug. 13 at the Kankakee Farmers Market, Kiwanis gave out 500 water bottles to local students. The project was the idea of president-elect Sandy Knight. Members Phil Angelo, Emile Capriotti, Craig Karvala and Jan Glazar, along with Knight, helped give out the bottles. Pictured are Emile Capriotti, with daughter Emilia and Phil Angelo. Success by Six
The Kankakee Kiwanis Club gave a grant to help support the Success by Six project organized by the United Way of Kankakee County and Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley. The project installed an activity trail for youngsters at Jeffers Park in Kankakee on the Kankakee River. The trail encourages children to exercise, while making suggestions for games and activities.
KIWANIS ONE DAY
Kiwanis Clubs throughout the world were asked to have a service project April 11, Kiwanis One Day. The Kankakee project, organized by member Ashley Paluzzi, was to sort out cans and food at the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Kankakee. Kiwanians and their families, shown here, gathered at the pantry to do the work.
Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.
